"Window was one of Ryszard Wasko´s most importunately films. In this project, the artist addressed several issues that were to recur in his later work. The film consists of one eleven-minute-long static shot showing a window filmed from the inside. This perspective allows the viewer to observe what is happening outside the window, in the courtyard and on the street. Wasko ironically alludes here to the definition of film as "a window to reality" or "window on the world". The static, rectangular window frame through which we observe the "images of reality" becomes a tautology for the film frame of this very film. The situation that emerges allows the viewer to become conscious of the act of watching, to watch themselves watching. The soundtrack of the film consists of sounds made by the artist off-screen (he manipulates a playing radio and "performs" on various objects)."
